About Us

OUR DEDICATION IS OUR DIFFERENCE

Iam proud to say that we are the only dedicated elephant rescue park in Bali and for the last 20 years been involved in the upkeep and breeding of the 27 elephants that we originally saved from government camps in Sumatra. These elephants have now successfully bred naturally to add 4 babies to our herd which showcases our commitment to both saving these endangered species, all of which would have died, had they been left in the Sumatran camps. We are fully committed to giving this herd of elephants a comfortable and happy existence for the remainder of their lives as well as educating the public to the plight faced by this endangered pachyderm, due to the devastating deforestation happening in their homeland.

OUR MISSION STATEMENT: OUR FIVE FREEDOMS

Our park strictly follows the Five Freedoms of animal welfare, in which the elephants under our care are looked after to the utmost of our ability and are never subjected to any forms of cruelty. We have been gifted with the privilege of looking after these creatures and our mission is to give them fulfilling, happy and healthy lives.

FREEDOM from hunger & thirst Ready access to fresh water and a diet to maintain full health and vigour.

FREEDOM from discomfort By providing an appropriate environment and comfortable resting area.

FREEDOM from pain, injury or disease By prevention via vitamins and minerals and rapid diagnosis and treatments with 24/7 vet care.

FREEDOM to express Normal behaviour by providing sufficient space, proper facilities and company of the animal’s own kind.

FREEDOM from fear & distress By ensuring conditions and treatment which avoid mental suffering.

OUR COMMITMENT TO CARE

Your mind can rest easy with us, knowing that every creature in the park is being cared for to the best of our ability.

TIME TO MEET, GREET AND TREAT

Spend some quality time getting to know our elephants. They all have their own quirks and personality traits that you’ll get to know during your stay.

MUSEUM AND EDUCATION CENTRE

Our museum boasts one of the only complete mammoth skeleton replicas in the world and our learning centre will teach you almost everything there is to know about elephants!

HAND FEED, IT’S TIME TO TREAT

Our elephants enjoy a balanced diet of about 250kg of food each day. However, as part of admission, guests can hand feed these gentle giants with freshly cut palm stem. Additional, if you feel like giving them a super treat, freshly cut fruit baskets are also available to purchase for only a few dollars.

ELEPHANT FREEROAM AREA

One of latest additions to the Park is our Free-Roam Area, where our elephants routinely share the space, socialising together within their friendship groups. For their enjoyment, the area includes a sand pit, shade houses, a bathing lake and enough room to stroll around and connect throughout the day.

TREETOP WALKWAY

Get a birds-eye view of the park from our new Treetop Walkway, some 5 metres high in the air. With 360 degree views, it’s a great spot for a selfie, watch the elephants enjoy a meal or simply watch park life pass you by.

ELEPHANT LAKE CAVE

One of best ways to get one of the best photos in our park is set against the hand carved stone relief which totally covers our new Elephant Lake Cave. It took a small team of local artists about 6 months to hand carve the intricate wall features.

ELEPHANT ART GALLERY

With every admission, guests can enjoy the many different elephant sculptures, original animation cells, drawings and paintings from artists all around the world. Most recently we added a Salavador Dali elephant statue and an in-park painted original piece by famed Australian artist Peter Hudson.

BLOOMING ORCHIDS ON DISPLAY

Spring is in the air every month in Bali when it comes to flowers, and our tropical gardens and orchid displays are no exception. Loose yourself amidst the tropical ferns, palms and exotic flora.

SELF FILLING DRINKING STATIONS

One of the many ways we are constantly improving the elephants wellbeing, are the self-filling drinking stations located on each elephant pads. Each station is connected to fresh, natural drinking water 90 metres below the ground.
